• Ezekiel prophesied to the exiles in Babylon – not that they will soon return to Jerusalem, but that God’s presence will finally leave the Temple in Jerusalem and Jerusalem would be completely destroyed. What were the reasons for such devastating destruction and suffering?
• Ezekiel quotes God using the phrase “and you shall know that I am the Lord” over 70 times. What was God trying to communicate over and over again to His people?
• In the midst of all the destruction and suffering are the promises of God’s grace – to gather them back from their exiled locations and to bless them again. What were the conditions of these promises?
• What character of God do you see in this book of captivity and restoration?
